What Are Digital Display Ads?
Digital display ads are the ads you see when you go online. You see these graphical images on Facebook, CNN.com, and all of the other authority sites like those. With this avenue of advertising, you have the ability to place ads on an unlimited amount of websites based on the content that your target market is interested in. You usually pay based on cost of impressions, not clicks. Digital display advertising offers long term branding and the ability to follow up with visitors based on their engagement level, unlike PPC.
Two Types of Display Ad Marketing
Retargeting Ad Traffic – When someone visits your website, a tracking pixel is assigned to their browser. This pixel allows you to market your products and services to them on any other site they visit. You can track prospects or “retarget” them for 1-6 months or until they buy.
Cold Ad Traffic – This strategy involves placing ads on sites that interest your target market, whether local or global. These are people who have never been to your website before and will see your company for the first time. Because you offer something they appear to be interested in, you can market your offer, reputation, and brand to them to get them to visit your website or pick up the phone and call about services.
